Instead of the traditional end-of-the-year solicitation, the Union County Foundation is launching a
“TEACHER GRANTS CAMPAIGN”.

“We just wrapped up a successful fundraising campaign to take advantage of the generous Lilly Endowment GIFT VII matching, ” explains Danka Klein, Foundation’s Executive DIrector. “Our donors and community stepped up big time, and we were able to add over $800,000 to charitable funds at the Foundation over the duration of the Lilly challenge. This is an incredible accomplishment for our small county to be proud of! We stepped up to the same challenge as much larger communities and crushed it! The funds raised are continually used for many needs and opportunities!”

Passing it on right away.

To say thank you for the amazing community support, the Foundation is “passing it on”. The Teacher Grants Campaign will provide each educator in our district with a $100 gift card to purchase anything they need in the classrooms or for daily work with students. In order to make this happen the UC Schools Fund at the Foundation will match any contribution towards this project dollar for dollar! Your $10 gift will become $20 to go directly to our classrooms. The Foundation aims to pay out $14,000 in teacher grants!
If you want to join in on teacher appreciation, stop by or mail a check with your “Teacher Grants” contribution to our office. You may also make a donation online, right here on our website. Choose the Community Impact Unrestricted Fund for your donation, and let us know in the donation comment that you are helping with the Teacher Grants campaign.

This year, the Foundation has been making an extra effort to recognize those who have been working extra hard and selflessly to protect and keep our community healthy. We have sponsored lunches and treats for the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, College Corner Volunteer Fire Department, Union County 911 Dispatch Office, Union County Health Department. Now, our focus turns onto our educators. We can all agree that their profession has been anything but easy lately, yet they keep powering through and doing all they can for our children and families.

To meet this goal, donations toward Teacher grants will be matched $1 for $1 from the Union County Schools Fund!

Let’s show our educators some love! Donate now 🙂
